Didn’t just look up to him for his fame or rap but to his poetry, could act, done all the artistic things so well.

Mum raised him, she was a drug addict and moved from homes to homeless shelters with him but he found a refugee at the Baltimore school of arts.

Moved to California and became a background dancer and vocalist for the group digital underground and sometimes at tours they’d give him the stage: energetic, smart and wise.

1991 he changed rap forever with his debut single ‘Brenda’s got a baby’ and the album ‘2pacalypse now’.

From 1992 to 1994 he got arrested 5 times for violent offenses. He spent 10 days in prison for beating another rapper with a baseball bat and 15 days for punching director Allen Hughes and in 1995 sentenced for up to 4 and a half years in prison for sexual assault.

He had a massive tattoo on his belly saying ‘Thug Life’ and he did embrace the gangster lifestyle e.g. sometimes carried a gun, he was quick tempered, he didn’t always respect women and this was one of the sides of who he really was.

In 1995 he became the first artist to reach number 1 on the Billboard Charts with his double platinum album ‘Me Against The World’- the song ‘Dear Mama’ on the album was significant because it showed the softer side of him and really showed how much he cared for his mother and how much he appreciated her.

After 8 years in prison, he released an album called ‘All eye on me’- it reached No.1 on the Billboard Charts and featured the No.1 hits ‘California Love’ and ‘How do you want it’.

September 7th 1996 he was gunned down in Las Vegas while driving with the CEO of death row records Suge Knight. 6 days later he died from his injuries. Within the 10 days after his death, 6 albums came out and each of them had hit records on them.
