At first, when I have searched for some 'gangster' logos, I have seen many of the faces with bandanas which is a tradition logo to represent gangster that everyone is familiar with. I thought that this would make the audience understand who he is and they view him the way I want them to. However, I wanted my logo to be more unique than that as this logo is a stereotype when people think of 'gangster' therefore I continued to continue searching. Although this logo made me certain that the colours I want my logo to be are black and white as it brings the simple, dangerous look that I think is very interesting as some of my scenes in my music video are filmed in black white.
I then came across this picture which I also found very interesting due to the fact that it had text. The fact that there is a text, will make the audience remember it more and might say the words out which is more memorable. I also like the idea of the gun being there as visuals stay in people's heads to. However, I thought that having a logo like this may be too difficult to remember- I want people to remember the logo just by looking at it once. I thought that in order for the audience to memories the logo, it should be something more simpler for example instead of actual words, there should be letters. This logo allowed me to realise that I want texts/letters in my logo which is why I continued to search.
I then saw this logo, which I thought was very interesting as it reminded me of an army logo. I liked the leaves coming out from the sides and the simple letters inside of it. However, I thought that the logo looked very professional and I want mine to look 'ghetto' and dangerous. This logo made me realise that letters look very nice in the logo that I want and I still liked the leaves on the sides as it added more interest to the logo. This thought therefore stayed in my head as I continued to search.
This then lead into finding this logo. This stands out to me the most as I love the font of it- it looks very dangerous and symbolic. This then lead me into wanting to have signs in my logo that will help the audience to easily memories and that when they look at those famous signs, they'll remember my logo and the artist. However, I also wanted something on the sides of the signs just like the leaves of the previous logo but I wanted something much simple and not as fancy.
FINAL DESIGN
This is how I got my logo. I decided to include the currency signs as I want to represent my artists as rich people. I also want the audience to think of my artist whenever they see the currency signs which they will definitely see many times. The lines on the sides add a bit more interest to the logo which I took the idea from the previous logo however I made it much simpler. This logo is very simple to memories as everyone is familiar with the currency signs which make my artist more memorable. This logo will be at the back cover of my album so that it's easy to spot.
How I came up with my logo- process.
ARTIST'S NAME
I chose this to be the artist's name because the word 'King' suggests that he's a very important person and runs the place that everyone obeys, listens to and wants to be friends with. It shows that he's a powerful person which the audience automatically respects. The word 'Rich' suggests that he earns a lot of money from his music and is a rich person overall that again, many people will respect. Many people may also find him as a role model.
