Below are some pictures I drew of te ideas I had for the album cover.
Research of album covers:
I found this album cover very interesting due to its dark colours ad the amount of shadows it uses. It makes the album cover seem as if the songs inside of it, talk about the issues the artist is going through and has a meaning behind it. It also seems as if the artist is trying to hide in the dark from everyone else- as if he wants to step back from the real world where he won't be found. This made me realise that I want my album cover to have a lot of shades and be quite dark.
I then found this album cover which I also found interesting because it uses an image of a tattoo. When people see tattoos they usually think of a gangster which is what I want my audience to view my artist as. However, I also want to bring out the deep meaning of the album- make it look much more meaningful which is why I thought to consider taking a picture of the artist's tattoo which says 'R.I.P DAD' which he also mentions in his song.
This image is completely different from the others due to the fact that the background is bright and the colour red that he's wearing is very bright.

Album cover:
This is the album cover I have chosen (2nd image from the album) that I have edited to add more shadows and sharpen it. The purpose of this album cover is for people to think that the album is filled with truthful songs. The use of shadows suggests that the artist sometimes likes to sit in dark, by himself where he can think about life which is how he deals with his problems. It also defines his personality- he's independent and a very calm person who dedicates his life to music. The fact that Reo is smoking represents weed which symbolises that he wants to get away from his problems and forget about any difficulties he's facing. Also, Reo is wearing his hood up which makes him seem as if he wants to be alone and doesn't want to be seen by his friends when he's feeling upset- wants some time alone. However, the fact that he has a bright light shining on his face, means that he can't always be alone due to the fact that he has so many fans, interviewers, reporters etc. surrounding him, that he can't always be alone which may be one of the reasons why he's so upset- idea of running away from fame. This relates to the research I made on August Alsina's 'Song Cry' song about wanting to get away from the fame and reality.
